Thermo-1200® is a high temperature, water-resistant type I calcium silicate designed to inhibit water absorption. In the event of a typical rainstorm water will bead on the surface of the insulation without penetrating into the substrate. This will allow contractors some additional time to install the insulation without immediately applying the jacketing afterward, offering more time and flexibility in the installation process than has traditionally been available. Additionally, Thermo-1200® contains XOX™ corrosion Inhibitor®, a proprietary corrosion inhibiting formula that helps inhibit corrosion under insulation (CUI). Thermo-1200® is available in pipe, block and curved segments. It is inorganic, non-combustible, asbestos-free and it meets or exceeds the physical and thermal property requirements of ASTM C533, type 1. It can be used in systems with operating temperatures that range from ambient up to 1200 deg F (650 deg C).
