Weld pins are used to attach insulation to metal surfaces. The pin is welded into place, the insulation is impaled over the pin, and then typically held in place with an insulation washer (speed clip). CD base weld pins are best installed with a capacitor discharge stud welder, while the double point pins are usually installed with an arc stud welder.
