Thermo-1200® is a high temperature, water resistant* Type I calcium silicate designed to inhibit water absorption. In the event of a typical rainstorm water will bead on the surface of the insulation without penetrating into the substrate. This will allow contractors some additional time to install the insulation without immediately applying the jacketing afterward, offering more time and flexibility in the installation process than has traditionally been available. Additionally, Thermo-1200 contains XOX Corrosion Inhibitor®, a proprietary corrosion inhibiting formula that helps inhibit corrosion under insulation (CUI). Thermo-1200 is available in pipe, block, and curved segments. It is inorganic, non-combustible, asbestos-free, and it meets or exceeds the physical and thermal property requirements of ASTM C533, Type 1. It can be used in systems with operating temperatures that range from ambient up to 1200°F (650°C).
