WC-1 is a heavy-bodied, water-based, breathing type mastic, for use as a protective coating over all types of insulation systems, both indoors and outdoors. WC-1 may also be successfully used on masonry surfaces and primed steel when a water-based coating is desired offering durability, weather protection, chemical and oil resistance, and beauty. In most applications, the recommended dried film thickness for WC-1 is 1/16 in. WC-1 is a thick, polyvinyl acetate emulsion which is suitable for application by trowel, palm, or spray (method of application should be specified when ordering). Over properly designed insulation systems, WC1, after drying, becomes a tough, durable, flexible film which provides maximum protection at a wide range of temperatures. It should not be applied where it will be subjected to standing water. WC-1 is suitable for application at ambient temperatures down to 40 deg F (4 deg C) and where the temperature is not expected to be below 35 deg F (2 deg C) for at least 24 hr after application. WC-1 contains no asbestos lead, or mercury compounds WC-1 must be protected from freezing during storage. After application until thoroughly cured, it must be protected from precipitation, freezing, oil, grease, and foot traffic. WC-1 is USDA acceptable for use in meat, poultry, and food processing plants.
