The Project's Scope

In February of 2023, Thermal Insulation, Inc. contacted SPI about a project in Boynton Beach for Bethesda Hospital East. The overall goal of this project is to expand the hospital's square footage to increase the number of beds and patient capacity. 

Once the project is complete, the hospital will have an additional 119 beds — almost triple their starting amount. The project will also involve adding two medical office buildings and two parking garages. The first phase of the project alone will involve adding 31,884 additional square feet.

The large scope of this project will also involve additions to Bethesda Hospital West. The plan for this facility is to increase the number of beds from 80 to 236 and add nearly 140,000 square feet.

SPI's Role

SPI’s role in this project was unique; we provided the mechanical insulation products used by Thermal Insulation, Inc. Thermal Insulation, Inc. delivers professionally installed insulation solutions for commercial and industrial operations. They have been a general contractor since 1989, and our partnership with them provided the high-quality materials they needed to meet the project's demands. 

To date, we have provided 24,000 square feet of aluminum; 6,000 square feet of duct wrap; 6,000 linear feet of foamglas; 6,000 linear feet of PVC; 2,200 linear feet of fiberglass; and 100 gallons of adhesive. SPI's mechanical insulation has been integral to this healthcare facility project.
