Absorption Plus® - Features and Benefits
Posted on Friday Apr 08, 2022 at 08:33AM in Insulation
Commercial institutional projects, and manufacturing plants have a wide array of noise issues. These can include loud dialogue, equipment and machinery noise, and reverberation. Not only can this make communication, concentration, and learning difficult, but it can even pose safety concerns.
Our Absorption Plus® family of acoustic products provides excellent sound absorption to noisy and reverberant spaces. Our made-to-order panel sizes and custom shapes are easy to install. They can be used alongside our full range of specialty acoustic products to absorb, dampen, block, and diffuse sound to enhance a given space. These products have an immediate impact and result in more productive learning, working, and living spaces.
Problems Addressed:
1) Noisy and Reverberant Spaces
Absorption Plus Deck, Cloud, Wall, High Impact, Tack, and Baffle panels are specified and selected for outstanding sound absorption (NRC) performance, CODE required, Class A fire performance, and crisp, clean appearance.
2) CODE Required Fire Performance
CODE requires that fabric-faced or wrapped insulation panels be tested to ASTM E 84. They must achieve CLASS A performance in the as-supplied form (acoustic panel with applied facing).
3) Beyond Ordinary
High-resolution, digital-imaged “Imagine” custom size and shape panels take visual interest to the max with limitless design possibilities.
4) Thermal Insulation
Absorption Plus acoustic panels are constructed of acoustic fiberglass or mineral wool insulation. They can reduce energy losses during heating and cooling season when applied directly to ceiling and or wall surfaces. Potential savings are dependent on application conditions, coverage area, and panel type and thickness.
5) Shipping or Storage Damage
Absorption Plus fabric-wrapped acoustic panels are shipped in protective wood crates. This eliminates shipping and job site storage damage, project delays associated with replacement panels, and the potential for non-matching fabric dye lot.
6) Sound Blocking
Absorption Plus High NRC black mat-faced panels provide superior sound absorption and dampening to reduce sound transmission to adjacent spaces for exposed deck and wall applications.
7) Recessed Ceiling Fixture Sound Leakage
Ceiling membrane materials are selected for sound absorption NRC, CAC rating, and or assembly STC ratings. Recessed light fixtures, speakers, etc. typically represent 10-20% of the ceiling area. Unprotected fixtures reduce the ceiling NRC, CAC, or assembly STC performance. Independent testing shows our patented SafeLite® covers maintain ceiling sound blocking (CAC) performance. This is especially important for HIPPA compliance.
8) Extended Lead times and Order Minimums
Because we make the products in our regional fabrication centers, our lead times are shorter than the industry standard 6-12 weeks. We also do not require minimum truckload orders.
