Acoustic concerns are one of the most important things to address when it comes to residential insulation, and acoustic products are one of the most versatile types of insulation on the market today, as they dampen noise and prevent it from spreading to other spaces. In this blog, we’ll look at the Vinaflex™ line of acoustic products and discuss how they can be used in different applications.

Vinaflex™
Mass load vinyl, or Vinaflex™, is a flexible vinyl that resists the passage of sound waves and reduces the transmission of airborne noise. We offer a complete line of Vinaflex™ Noise Barriers to meet the physical and performance requirements of virtually any acoustical application.

Vinaflex™ is especially appropriate for residential concerns such as multifamily housing, including apartments and condos. It addresses a range of concerns, including:
• Quieting spaces for remote working
• Preventing sound spread in home theaters
• Reducing noise between rooms
• Waste trains - prevent hearing water flowing down a wall when flushing an upstairs toilet
• Quieting upper levels/reducing sound spread to lower levels

Our basic Vinaflex is available is a range of options. The 1# foil-faced Vinaflex has an E84 fire and smoke rating, making it ideal for use in multifamily housing that must meet certain STC and code ratings.

Vinaflex™ (VP) Noise Barrier
Another product in the Vinaflex™ line, VP Noise Barrier is a mass-loaded vinyl that is adhered to a light-density, quilted fiberglass on one side. The combination of materials results in a thin, lightweight acoustical product. Sound waves are absorbed by the fiberglass and then blocked by the vinyl, preventing noise spread. Its acoustic properties and low profile make it a great choice for industrial or commercial settings, where it is often used as a duct wrap on HVAC systems to reduce noise.

VP Noise Barrier is also available in 2x2 and 2x4 panels. These panels are cut and laid over drop ceilings to help prevent sound spread, particularly in office settings. Reducing noise spread not only provides a quieter, more productive environment, but also helps to ensure privacy and HIPPA compliance in a medical setting.

We offer catalogs and data sheets for each Vinaflex product to provide decibel ratings, and our skilled, knowledgeable product experts are here to assist at any time. Contact us today for help in selecting the right Vinaflex product for your next project.
